What do you think of the Orange County Chemistry book? My friend had the English ones and she really liked them. I think I may purchase it, depending if I passed 119.

I recently passed CSET-Chemistry III in one attempt. I started preparing for it in "April first week and gave it on July 10th." I did not skip a day without reading for 5 hours a day. I used the text books "Chemistry 7th edition by Zumdahl and Chemistry- the central science by Brown, Lemay, and Bursten. "These books were mentioned on CSET website where they put the syllbus."
I had already done my B.S graduation 12 years ago. I was completely out of touch. It took lot of time for me to review, undersatand and practice.
I would highly recommend that please DO NOT RUSH, give atleast 3 months for each subtest. and that too regular 4-5 hours a day. I use to read at night when my kid slept. Those three months were really tough for me but I did it and can sleep better.
Remember to purchase your own books than getting from library. There are used ones available on Amazon for very cheap rate.

For chemistry IV paper-125, I did not pass it one time. Because I didnot know the proper syllabus and text books and also I gave it on the same day of paper III. DO NOT GIVE BOTH SUBTEST ON SAME DAY because you get 5 hours whether you give one paper or two. But just to know the trend, one can give it a try.

2nd time, for paper IV, I watched lot of videos on Youtube related to heat transfer:Conduction, Convection, and Radiation and for structure and properties of matter, I used the same text books plus AP chemistry book for practice and went very deep. Though this paper has less questions, it is harder than paper III. It is more about understanding the questions and chosing the best because out of 4 choices, two look alike and I had to think a lot to chose the best answer. This time I felt confident, had more time to think. My result is due on Dec 6th.

TIPS: Take lot of notes, practice on a board, and memorize some stuff like activity series, solubility chart, some useful tables related to gases and solutions. Make separate notes for reasoning. It helped. Paper IV is very abstract, lot of reasoning questions.

I hope this helps everyone who are taking Chemistry test.
I wish everyone good luck. Work hard regulary.
Thanks.
