Confused Prospective Person

I am trying to get into an Alternative Teaching Certificate program here in Texas. They have told me that I need to take the PACT (Pre-Admission Certification Test) and they say it's on the TExES website and Preparation Materials. My question is the PACT the same as the TExES Preparation Materials? Plus is there any particular book that is good for studying for this test?

I'm confused, too, TheSportsTraine: references to PACT on both the TExES Web site and the Praxis Web site suggest that PACT is a series of tests distinct from either TExES or PACT (though still offered through ETS) - but one doesn't seem to be able to find any such tests. This makes me think that one might take the regular TExES test or a regular Praxis test but that, because one registers as a PACT candidate, one's test may get scored slightly differently. (I think most TExES exams include some information about teaching practice; those questions may not get counted, perhaps.)
