January 2 and we have no work days all year...180 days or students...180 days of work.
Our next day off is May 23...first day of summer recess.
It's the way it's always been so you just accept it and get used to it.

I think a third of our team forgot we had our usual Thursday meeting the first day back, including the team leader. Made for an interesting morning scramble to get everyone together.

Wait...so there are no "set-up" days prior to students starting the school year?
We are given two (paid) days to prepare, but most of us use up much more time than that.

We don't have any classroom work time in our calendar either. I did all that over the summer. For free. While I was being "lazy."

Me too! We do have admin days to write report cards, so I try to have my report cards done before the admin day so I can have time to work in the classroom.
We go back on Monday.

We go back on the 7th, so I am enjoying the last few days of my break. Normally around this time I am itching to go back, but I was sick the first week of break so I think that's why I don't feel mentally ready to head back. I hope everyone's first week back is great!
